Here's the Interview: One-on-One with Teejay Spencer!

1. How did you come into wanting to become an artist? I downloaded photoshop one day when I was bored, I honestly don't even know what lead me to do that but it was the best thing to ever happen to me.

2. What separates your art from other artist in your field of work? Describe yourself as an artist? I feel like as an artist, your mind separates you from everyone else. Me and you could have the same set of pictures for a piece and come out with totally different end products. Your creative imagination is your biggest weapon as an artist.

3. What artists do you look up to? My brothers - Jawuan and his clothing brand 'deconstructionists" and Toinne & KJ (@lvtrtoinne & @lvtrkevin) are my biggest inspirations right now.

4. Why is pursuing visual arts important to you? Being able to create is a gift from God. There's no better feeling than bringing your thoughts and visions to life, having people appreciate your work and show love is just a bonus.

5. What tools do you use? photoshop

6. While in the moment of designing do you listen to any music? What do you do to keep you in your vibe? If I'm working with an artist I usually start off listening to their music as I work, and depending on their vibe/genre I keep my playlist going off that.

7. How do you come up with the concept for a piece?8. What's your favorite piece of art you've designed and why? When I see several things things that are independently visually appealing I figure out a way to make them look even better when they're combined.
