Here's the Interview: One-on-One with Lil YG Rilla!
1.
Q: How did you come into wanting to become a rapper?
A: I've always been attached to different sounds and melodies, but once i was old enough to really realize what music was it became my passion and i decided that this was something i wanted & needed to pursue, not only for me but for my people as well.
2.
Q: What separates your music from other artists? Describe yourself as an artist?
A: I honestly feel like my music ALONE separates me from other artist as a whole, I'm very versatile with my music i can switch my flow up and come on tracks multiple ways that not too many other artist can do, I also promote, record and manage myself as an artist. I bring life to every song that i do and there is a meaning behind every song/video that I release, And I DEFINITELY dont follow trends.
3.
Q: What artists do you look up to?
A: Lauren Hill, 2pac & Boosie.
4.
Q: Why is pursuing your music important to you?
A: I done put 11 years into it so its a must i make it happen and chase it to the fullest until its no longer a dream.
5.
Q: With you being from your city, did the sound of early hip-hop/rap influence your music in anyway?
A: Not really my city, but being from Florida really influenced me to go harder, its a lot of Florida legends in the state.
6.
Q: What direction you think you're settling for your city music scene?
A: I just want my own lane, i dont have a direction cause im everywhere and my music can go many different places and touch different situations, in the end im still trying to blow so whoever takes the time to listen and become a fan is where ima make sure i put the music at..
7.
Q: What do you think will help your city artists become more mainstream?
A: My city aint no different from any other city, its more hate and envy than it is love this way, I just feel like if everybody put they egos to the side and actually started working together then it aint no way why we cant all be worth some millions.
