Here's the Interview: One-on-One with Vonfetti
1. How did you come into wanting to become a rapper?
To be honest, I'm not really sure.. I've never really wanted to be a rapper, I knew I would create some day but I didn't think It would be music. I feel like it was more of a peer pressure thing from my friends, they would always tell me that I should rap. Being that we already had our own clique at that time, & I guess I kinda already had the image, lol. So I thought why not?
2. What separates your music from other artists? Describe yourself as an artist?
I feel like as a music artist you can't just set me as a certain type of artist cause I can make any kind of music, if your a fan of mines you would know that. And if you aren't, you will find out . I can rap & I can harmonize, I won't call it singing because I don't how to sing, lol. But I can create music, & I feel like that's what make me different from other artist. A lot of people can rap but a lot of people aren't able to create music.
3. What artists do you look up to?
The only artist I look to is wiz khalifa. Even though he doesn't have an influence on my music at all, it's more like an influence on my life. When wiz came out I was already tatted, but he inspired me to get more. His song "ink my whole body" was my shit. Like we probably have totally different lifestyles, but that's who I fuck with.. that's my boy. I'll probably sign to Taylor gang some day, if the chance presented itself.
4. Why is pursuing your music important to you?
When I first started doing music it was just a for fun thing. But I mean if I'm actually putting my time, effort & money into it, to me? it's becomes a not for fun thing anymore. Plus I have a family that I would love to give the world too, & I love nice things also. I've seen what rap can do to peoples lives, so why not go hard with it.
5. With you being from your city, did the sound of early hip-hop/rap influence your music in anyway?
No, I don't really sound like a Miami rapper. If you ask me, I don't sound like nothing that's in or that came from Miami.
6. What direction you think you're settling for your city music scene?
To be honest, I don't really care at this point I'm just trying do me. I mean of course I want it to thrive, but It's a lot of hate on the scene, no artist from the city has done anything to help me not saying that I'm in need, I'm just saying i feel like at the end of the day it doesn't effect me.
7. What do you think will help your city artists become more mainstream?
Maybe more unity, just take Atlanta's music scene for example. It's nothing to explain, it speaks for itself. Year after year.
8. Where can fans find you?
