Here's the Interview: One-on-One with Hood Terror:

1. How did you come into wanting to become a rapper?

I couldn't play instruments, I was in band in the eighth grade and I was trash at everything so I started rapping with homies and it got more and more serious as we got older and some dropped off and some folded but eventually i started my own shit to be proud of.

2. What separates your music from other artists? Describe yourself as an artist?

every artist has their own style in a way, whether it sounds the same or not, no one is going to say anything the same. its for the fans i feel like to decide what makes an artist different because i may say something and someone else would say something different. i just mainly focus on the vibe of a song or how i can ride a beat. I've heard people call me a mix of Lil Uzi and Quavo. It don't bother me really because they're both fire but i like my own lane.

3. What artists do you look up to?

I don't really look up to artists generally because I don't know them personally. You could listen to someone and they be a whole different person when yall meet.

4. Why is pursuing your music important to you?

If I didn't make music, honestly i'd probably still be robbing and finessing on blocks and aves to keep it hot with you. I got tired of dealing with the police so i stayed in my room and made music all day cuz they cant fuck my life up if im unseen.

5. With you being from your city, did the sound of early hip-hop/rap influence your music in anyway?

I feel like early rap should influence a rapper in some sort of way no matter the city you're from. all the cities i lived in growing up were small so no one really branched out of the normal music. i listened to my own shit like r kelly, ginuwine, jamie foxx, just groovy shit like that. Slipknot, Metallica, and this little band called Maryrose Artifact up until about 6th grade then that when the lil wayne wave hit for me. after that i started listening more and more to hip hop and rap. started fuckign heavy with dipset. I feel like all my music feels a little different so yeah those played a part.

6. What direction you think you're settling for your city music scene?

I just want my area to be more open minded about all genres. i want people to understand you can like old school rap with regular/slower tempos while still faithfully slapping a new tape in the whip right after. i dont have a direction honestly. everyone just needs to chill and fuck with what they fuck with

7. What do you think will help your city artists become more mainstream?

Honestly Phoenix needs more artists that are really willing to work. working out here with some artists is like trying to teach someone how to walk again. Some know what they're doing but a lot of people out here feel they have everything figured out... I'm still learning shit everyday man, nothing can be enough.

8. Where can fans find you?

All of my social media is HOODTERROR except Instagram which is ilyterror.
