Here's the Interview: One-on-One with BranBrav:
1. How did you come into wanting to become a rapper? I wanted to become a rapper because it was something I was good at. I never liked sports like that, I'm just a weird kid who likes weird shit. I rap my ass off though. 2. What separates your music from other artists? Describe yourself as an artist? I think what seperates my self from other artists, is I know the history. I've studied grew up on 90s rap. I missed almost all the music from 2002-2010 as far as rap goes. So where most rappers got there influence from, I didn't get mine from. I got my influence from anime, 90s rap, battle rap, and being weird. As an artist I like to think I'm classified as a lyricist. You can tell in my freestyles I really care about not only the lyrics but the structure of my verses. Also I'm very honest. My debut project Sol Rex was a very honest story. 3. What artists do you look up to? I look up to a lot of artists, namely Kid Cudi, Sylvan LaCue, Boogie, Travis Scott, and my producer Potential. That man is too dope for his own good. 4. Why is pursuing your music important to you? I got nothing else. I'm awkward, I'm weird. I don't like working for people. If I didn't have music I'd probably off myself. So yeah. In order to keep me alive, gotta keep the music alive. 5. With you being from your city, did the sound of early hip-hop/rap influence your music in anyway? The sound of Philadelphia rap influenced me to sound nothing like Philadelphia rap. Too many rappers from this city sound exactly the same. They all sound like Meek Mill and Reed dollaz in '06. I just wanted to be different. 6. What direction you think you're settling for your city music scene? Hopefully I'm bringing out more creatives. More people who don't want to sound the same. I want to encourage individuality as much as I can. 7. What do you think will help your city artists become more mainstream? Realizing that Philadelphia's Legends aren't the only legends. There are other artists you can pull inspiration from. Also, stop bitibg styles. 8. Where can fans find you? YouTube?SoundCloud?
