Here's the Interview: One-on-One with Johnny Tho!

1. How did you come into wanting to become a rapper?

well to keep it 100 i really wasnt like focused on rap i used to rap and do freestyles every now and again but really my homie inspired it and we just made a rap group this was back in like highschool and everybody was actually liking the music so we was like fuck it and thats how it started

2. What separates your music from other artists? Describe yourself as an artist?

Really to be real i think what makes me different is my voice hands down. Everyone always say like " your voice is so unique " i can get on any beat and itll sound good, not tryna like brag but i always hear that alot more than i should

3. What artists do you look up to?

Well i really look up to lil wayne for influence, Just because of the mark he left. i dont think ill be that big but in my opinion i think everyone should definitely aim for that goal. people just want the fame but i want to make an impact

4. Why is pursuing your music important to you?

well its important bc its the only thing i truly have tbh.

5. With you being from your city, did the sound of early hip-hop/rap influence your music in anyway?

i mean my older cousin tried to get me into that like goodie mob cool breeze etc but i wasnt really feelin it to heavy i was born in 94 so i didn really come up around the time these artist were out so i dont really say it was an influence bc my guys inspired it friends influenced me

6. What direction you think you're settling for your city music scene?

my own direction im really trying to make a way so i can put everybody on bc everybody tryna rap i just help out as much as i can if the music really good ill try my best to get the person recognition bc i know how it is to be slept on

7. What do you think will help your city artists become more mainstream?

nobody wanna be mainstream anymore everybody wanna be independent and say shit like fuck a deal i dont need a deal lol bc im like that record labels fuck you over smh all the time
